Proposed Revisions for City of Arco Chapter 17 - Planning and Zoning

In compliance with Sections 50-901 and 50-902, Idaho Code, for Ordinances and City Codes, the City of Arco, Planning and Zoning Commission, will hold a public hearing to receive comments on proposed updates and revisions to the City Zone Map (Arco Code, Title 17, Chapter 17.08.020).
The updates and revisions propose to rezone parcels with existing single- and multi-family residential structures that are within the current commercial zone to R1 single family residential, or R2 multi-family as the case may be. The proposed updates also identify the downtown commercial core, and propose to rezone multi-family residential structures such as the Arco Senior Apartments, the Cimarron Apartments and the adjacent School District parcel, and converted motel/apartments to R3. Existing residential duplexes would be rezoned R2. All existing industrial business parcels not already zoned Industrial would be rezoned to Industrial. Additionally, some currently Public zone parcels that conduct business office activities, or other business activity, would be rezoned to commercial. Parks, schools, and city well or utility sites remain Public zone.

The proposed new GIS-compatible zone map is available for public inspection at the City Office, 302 W. Grand Avenue, Arco, Idaho, on the Arco Municipal website Public Hearings: https://cityofarco.municipalimpact.com/public-hearings, under Related Documents, and by scanning the QR code.
This will be a public meeting. Any person who wishes to testify before the City of Arco Planning and Zoning Commission is encouraged to attend and testify.
Prior to the hearing, residents of the City of Arco may submit written comments about the proposed Title 17 Zone Map revisions to the Arco City Office. Written comments must be received in the City Office by 4:00 p.m. on April 14, 2026. Include your full name, city property address, and your mailing address. Any written comments carry the same weight as oral testimony taken at the public hearing.
The hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., at the Butte County Business Center, 159 N. Idaho Street, Arco, Idaho.
